For lunch we couldn´t resist of going to Matbaren once more.... and it showed to be as nice and fingerlicking as always.
Personally I really like the modern way of cooking with scandinavian products flavoured with Asia that the kitchen showed in the scallop, clam and oysterdish with a mushroom broth to drink, really yummy. Maybe not as sophisticated is the Momofuku inspired beef buns, fingerlicking was the word ;)
After that I had to go for Swedish meatballs because I had eaten almost everything on the menu, but that was a good choice, this is the way this classic dish should be like.... Lars had a cocotte of fish, shrimps and crayfish with lemon tapioka, broccoli and dill.
They had a new dessert, blueberry sorbet with an great oat ice cream and caramellised raw milk was great, the oat ice cream really stood out. Lars went for a dish of baked cauliflower topped with truffle, hazelnuts and gruyere, don´t need to say more ;)
Matbaren is as I said for a while one of my favorite interiors in Stockholm and is a really safe pick if you want to eat yummy food.
Head chef Martin took us on a tour to show the new diningroom and talked a little of the idea of having a menu mainly based on vegetables, thanks for that !
